And there were also male sacred prostitutes in the land. They did all the same abominations as the other nations.

Because they were disloyal to Yahweh, in the fifth year of Rehoboam's reign, King Shishak of Egypt attacked Jerusalem with 1,200 chariots, 60,000 horsemen, and countless soldiers including Libyans, Sukkites, and Cushites.
Shemaiah the prophet visited Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah who were gathered in Jerusalem because of Shishak. He said to them, 'This is what Yahweh says: "Since you have renounced me, I have renounced you and will hand you over to Shishak."'
The leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, 'Yahweh is fair.'
When Yahweh saw that they had humbled themselves, the word of Yahweh came to Shemaiah: '"My wrath will not be unleashed on Jerusalem through Shishak. But they will become his subjects, so they can see the difference between serving me and serving other nations."'
Then King Shishak of Egypt attacked Jerusalem and carried off the treasures of the Temple of Yahweh.
And all the treasures of the royal palace, including the gold shields Solomon had made. He took everything.
Rehoboam had 18 wives and 60 concubines.
He fathered 28 sons and 60 daughters.
As for the rest of the events of Rehoboam’s reign, including his accomplishments, are they not recorded in the scrolls of the Annals of the Kings of Judah, the Annals of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer?
