When Saul was told of this, he was pleased and said, 'She will be a snare for him, so that the hand of the Philistines will be against him!'
Saul commanded his servants, saying, 'Talk privately to David and say, "The king is pleased with you, and all his servants love you, so become the king's son-in-law.'" And they repeated these words to David.

When the servants told these things to David, he was happy to become the king's son-in-law.
