Samson went and caught three hundred jackals, turned them tail to tail, and tied a torch between each pair of tails.

He lit the torches and turned the jackals loose on the Philistines' grain fields, thus burning their standing grain, their bundled grain, and their vineyards as well.

The Philistines asked, 'Who has done this?' and they were told, 'Samson who married the girl from Timnah, because his wife was given to his best man.'

So the Philistines went and burnt to death the girl from Timnah and her father.

Then Samson said to them, 'Because you have done this, I will not stop until I have had my revenge!'
