After Joshua died, the Israelites asked Yahweh, 'Who is to lead the invasion against the Canaanites?'

Yahweh said, 'The tribe of Judah is to attack first. I will deliver the land into their hands.'

The men of Judah said to their brothers, the tribe of Simeon, 'Invade our allotted land with us and attack the Canaanites, and then we will invade your allotted land with you.'

So the men of Simoen went with them, and the men of Judah attacked.

Yahweh delivered the Canaanites and Perizzites over to them.

At Bezek, they found Adoni-Bezek and fought against him.

They defeated the Canaanites and Perizzites.

They killed ten thousand men at Bezek.

8 of 13 Judges 1:4

Adoni-Bezek ran away, but they chased him down and captured him.

9 of 13 Judges 1:6

Then they cut off his thumbs.

10 of 13 Judges 1:6

And his big toes.

11 of 13 Judges 1:6

Adoni-Bezek said, 'Seventy kings with thumbs and bigs toes cut off used to gather scraps under my table. As I did, God does to me.'

He was taken to Jerusalem, and there he died.
