From the desert of Kedemoth, Moses sent envoys to King Sihon of of Heshbon with the peaceful message, 'We intend to cross your country. We shall stray neither left nor right, and shall pay for any food or water you sell us.'
'We only want to march through until we cross the Jordan into the country that Yahweh our God is giving us.'
