On the following day, the whole community of Israelites were complaining against Moses and Aaron, saying, 'You have killed Yahweh's people!'

As the community gathered in opposition to Moses and Aaron, the glory of Yahweh appeared, and Yahweh said to Moses, 'Get away from this community. I am going to destroy them here and now.'

Moses then said to Aaron, 'Take a censer, put some fire and incense in it, and hurry to the community to make atonement for them. Yahweh's wrath has come -- the plague has already begun!'

Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the midst of the community. The plague had already started among the people.

Aaron offered the incense and made atonement for them.

Aaron stood between the living and the dead, and the plague stopped.
