Sarah lived for 127 years.
1 of 18 Genesis 23:1
Then she died, and Abraham proceeded to mourn and weep for her.
2 of 18 Genesis 23:2
Now when Abraham was very, very old he said to the senior servant of his household, "Put your hand under my thigh so I can make you swear by Yahweh that you will not acquire a wife for my son Isaac from among the Canaanites I am living amongst."
"You must go to the country of my relatives and acquire a wife for my son Isaac," said Abraham. "But be sure that you don’t take my son back there." And the servant put his hand under his master Abraham’s thigh and swore to him concerning this.
So the servant took ten of his master’s camels and all sorts of valuable gifts and traveled to the town of Nahor in Aram Naharaim.
5 of 18 Genesis 24:10
It was near evening when he had the camels kneel down by the well outside the town, and he prayed, "O Yahweh, grant me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham."
Before he finished speaking, there was Rebekah coming out with her water jug on her shoulder. She was very beautiful and was a virgin—no man had had sex with her. She was the daughter of Bethuel and had a brother named Laban.
The servant brought out gold, silver jewelry, and garments, and gave them to Rebekah. And he said, "Whose daughter are you? Is there room in your father’s house to spend the night?"
The girl ran and told her mother’s household about these things. Abraham’s servant went to the house and unloaded the camels. He gave expensive gifts to her brother and her mother, and said, "My master Abraham made me swear to acquire a wife for his son from the family of his father."
Laban and Bethuel replied, "This is Yahweh’s decision. We can have no say in the matter." And they said to Rebekah, "Will you go with this man?" And she replied, "I will go."
And they sent Rebekah away along with her nanny, and they blessed her, saying "May you become mother to millions, and may your offspring capture the city gates of their enemies!"
Now Isaac was living in the Negev, and as the camels approached, Rebekah looked up and saw Isaac and she asked the servant, "Who is that man walking to meet us?" And the servant said, "That is my master."
Rebekah took her veil and covered herself. The servant told Isaac all that had happened, and Isaac brought Rebekah into his mother Sarah’s tent.
Rebekah became his wife, and he loved her. And so Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death. He was 40 years old when he married Rebekah.
Abraham took another wife whose name was Keturah. She bore him Zimram, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
