As he was about to enter Egypt, Abram said to his wife, "You are a beautiful woman, and when the Egyptians see you, they will say "This is his wife," and they will kill me. Say you are my sister so my life will be spared."
Abram entered Egypt and the Egyptians saw that the woman was very beautiful.

But Yahweh afflicted Pharaoh and his family with terrible plagues because of Sarai.

So Pharaoh summoned Abram and said "What have you done to me? Why didn’t you tell me she was your wife? Why did you say "she is my sister" so that I took her as a wife?"
"Here is your wife! Take her and go!"
