On the day Yahweh God made the earth and the heavens, no plant or shrub had yet sprung up because Yahweh God had not caused it to rain, and there was no man to work the ground.

He brought her to the man, and the man said: This at last is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh! She will be called woman, because she was taken out of man.
This is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh.
