These were the prophets and teachers at the church in Antioch: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been raised with Herod the tetrarch), and Saul.

While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Ghost said, 'Set apart Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.'

So Barnabas and Saul were sent by the Holy Ghost and they set sail for Cyprus.

They traveled the whole island until they came to Paphos where they met a Jewish magician and false prophet named Son of Jesus, an attendant of the proconsul Sergius Paulus.

Now Sergius Paulus was an intelligent man and summoned Barnabas and Paul, wanting to hear the word of God. But the magician opposed them, trying to keep the proconsul from the faith.

Filled with the Holy Ghost, Saul, who was also called Paul, stared right at him and said, 'Son of the devil, full of deceit and trickery! Will you never stop twisting the ways of the Lord?'
