Now Stephen was performing many signs and wonders among the people.

So they instigated some men to say, 'We have heard Stephen speak words of blasphemy against Moses and God.' And Stephen was seized and brought before the Sanhedrin.

Stephen replied, 'You stubborn people with uncircumcised hearts and ears are always resisting the Holy Ghost! Has there ever been a prophet your ancestors did not persecute?'
